How pumped up do you get after an Atlantasweep Die Hard Mets Fans?  I’m pretty damn pumped.  I’m ready to see the Mets shut down the competition this September as they make their playoff push.  I want to see the brooms.  It’s time to give credit to where credit is due.  The Mets unloaded that offense on Friday and Saturday winning 7-1 and 5-1.  Today’s matchup was a little different, but you expect that when the starters are Smoltz and Glavine.  The Mets won 3-2.

First, let’s talk pitching.  John Maine had a monster outing Friday night throwing 7 innings and allowing 3 hits, 1 run, 3 walks, and 8 strike outs.  Mike Pelfrey had the great outing on Saturday night throwing 6 innings allowing 1 hit, 1 run, 3 walks, and 7 strike outs.  Today, it was Tom Glavine who threw 6 innings allowing 5 hits, 1 run, 3 walks, and 2 strike outs.  All of them got the ‘W’, and all of them get props.

Next, let’s talk offense.  On Friday, Carlos Delgado hit a 3 run HR, Marlon Anderson hit a base clearing double off the bench, and Jose Reyes hit a solo shot.  On Saturday, Carlos Delgado hit a 2 run shot, Lastings Milledge hit a solo blast, and Carlos Beltran hit a solo shot.  Today, David Wright hit a 2 run homer which was the difference in the ballgame.

I would like to give credit to those that took care of business against the Braves.  It makes it a much more enjoyable Labor Day weekend when the Mets can at least take 2 out of 3 against Atlanta.  The Mets gave us one better.  Thanks.
